We'd have added BGM throughout the whole show from the beginning TBH, if it were legal. But, we try our best to operate within copyright law and terms of fair use. There's a lot of grey area, but the safe play for most podcasters when playing music that's not their own and they don't have explicit permission to use, is to either play music that the copyright has expired on (like, 1930s music), public domain songs (like nursery rhymes), or to keep their music clips 30 seconds or less and call it "promotional". Or, to find a cover song and play that, which is what we've done. To play anything longer would require permission from SE. As soon as they say we can play their music at will, or as soon as there are enough FFXIV cover songs out there to create a BGM track, we'll be ecstatic to have a music in the background through the whole podcast! Right now to do that would require us to pepper in some, IDK, Billie Holiday tunes. And, while I love listening to the Lady, we found she stands out like a sore thumb in a FF podcast
